That's the second time that I've seen blood oranges on this blog. I wonder if Michelle has a thing for them.

Paul

the squid was delicious

Mallika

Ok - so I'm not the only one who does the crap microwave defrosting thing, phew. But oversized sushi - really?

Michelle

I do love blood oranges, but the time space continuum is a bit deceptive, because that was the same week I bought blood oranges for the other thing.

Paul, yes, will have to make a giant batch next time.

Mallika, great to see you around these parts again. I swear, I didn't know the restaurant had giant sushi! :)

Sarah

What's up with ramps? They're everywhere! I had the ones at Casa Mono--I liked them, though I thought they were a little tough. But maybe they're supposed to be like that. I'll have to try to get some at the Greenmarket one of these days . . .

Michelle

Hi Sarah, I know, I know. Ramps are the talk of the town. I definitely had to give a few good chews on the ramps I ate at Casa Mono, but they weren't tough. Would love to see you do your version of ramps.

so i too tried to make the ramp spaghetti recipe from epicurious. i blanched, i did, but i didn't reserve adequate pasta water. the results were very heartburn-y

do you remember back at 355 it was some summer weekend afternoon, everyone was away but for you and i. we sat out in the backyard and ate cold foods to try to beat the ridiculous heat? i can't remember what we ate, but i remember sitting back there.

Michelle

Darn that recipe! I'm sorry to hear you had heartburn.

Yes, I remember that steamy weekend. That was fun - the salad days. To have a backyard!

You're spreading lies about lamb shoulder chops! I've never been so disappointed in you.
