Preparing a delicious meal for the loved ones is the main aim of every individual that enters a kitchen with the desire to cook. Some people cook because they simply want to spoil the taste buds of their loved ones or because they want to show off with their abilities in the kitchen. Any reason is however good enough to come up with a tremendous feast every time one feels like doing so. It is interesting that some people choose to put in practice their own ideas and to use their own imagination and creativity when getting to ‘business’. Playing with the ingredients can be a nice and innovative way of making food but the downside is that there is no guarantee that the outcome will truly impress the ones that have to eat it. Other people play it safe and prefer to use cooking books or to follow their cooking gurus when it comes to different types of foods. The cooking books are very useful, especially when it comes to individuals who do not have too much experience in the kitchen. They can teach gastronomic enthusiasts one thing or two about balancing the ingredients and the flavors. They might also be efficient in helping people figure out quantities and altogether they are a nice way to start off when being passionate about food and cooking.
Some people follow their so called kitchen or cooking gurus. Everyone who knows a thing or two about cooking has a favorite cook, a mentor that leads them through the art of cooking. There are many famous chefs that become a source of inspiration for millions of cooking passionate and Jamie Olivier is only one of them. He had become quite famous thanks to his talent of playing with flavors and ingredients. Usually, individuals ‘steal’ secrets from their kitchen gurus when it comes to creativity and to the way in which flavors can be combined. Also, some people tend to learn more about a secret that is little used in the common kitchen and that is presentation. The way in which the food is presented makes a great deal of difference although it is not the most important feature in food. It is true that delicious food will be eaten no matter the way it looks, but it is even more indulging when the plate looks impeccably and the food is delicious at the same time.
Now it’s time to produce a perfect dish, chicken with coconut curry. One should start making ghee from 1 pound of unsalted butter. At medium-low heat, the butter is melted and it is slowly brought to boiling until it becomes covered with foam, when the heat should be set at the lowest possible. It is being simmered and let to set for about 45 minutes while the milk solids on the bottom of the pan. The ghee is strained through sieve lined cheesecloth. 3 tablespoons of the ghee should then be heated at low heat and then 2 chopped onions, a piece of chopped ginger and 4 finely chopped gloves of garlic are added and left to cook slowly for about 15 minutes. One should add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 2 tablespoons of curry powder, cinnamon and 1 to 3 dried chilies. This is then seasoned with salt and pepper and 2 cans of unsweetened coconut milk and 2 cups of chicken stock are pour in. This mix must be cooked until the sauce become thick which will take about 20 minutes. Then one adds 4 chopped tomatoes, 6 boneless chicken breasts that were cut into 1 inch strips, a quarter of a cup of cilantro leaves and the juice of half of a lemon. All must then cook through for up to 15 minutes.
